Juergen Teller’s Woo Opens in London

News | January 22, 2013

Juergen Teller, known for his commercial success in both the art world as well as in fashion photography, is presenting his work in the UK for the very first time starting next week. The exhibition is a tour through his career starting in the ’90s with his iconic images of people like Kate Moss, Kurt Kobain and Vivienne Westwood. Think you haven’t seen Teller’s photography before? Think again. It was his instantly recognisable photograph of Sinéad O’Connor for her single Nothing Compares 2 You that really jumpstarted his career, but he had his finger on the pulse of the industry way before that and had been photographing Moss since the late ’80s when she was as young as 15.

However, this exhibit is not just for fashion diehards, the classic photos of some of our most well-known celebs mark a time in history, one that can be appreciated outsides of the fashion realm. In addition to his more commercial work, the German photographer has also added personal photos from his hometown in Germany as well as magazine reaction letters to some of his more controversial work. If you weren’t nostalgic for the ’90s you will be after this exhibition.

Juergen Teller: Woo starts January 23, 2013 and runs until March 17, 2013
