Adrienne Arsht Center Hosting All-Day Event For President Barack Obama’s 2013 Inauguration

In honor of the second inauguration of President Barack Obama, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts is hosting a watch party come-block-party with performances by choirs and marching bands. The celebration is being sponsored by CBS4, and will begin at 11 AM today with Elliot Rodriguez of CBS4 as host. They will be featuring a television simulcast of President Obama’s inauguration address as well as the parade.

President and CEO of the Adrienne Arsht Center, John Richard, has said, “As Miami’s new Town Square, the Arsht Center is a natural place for our diverse community to come together every four years when the nation turns its eyes to Washington, D.C. for the Presidential Inauguration.”

The Arsht Center is also having a variety of entertainment including a performance by Bianca Sirgany-Castro, the Arsht Center’s Gospel Talent search winner, with the New World School of the Arts Concert Choir, the Miami Carol City High School Marching Band, and a performance by the JROTC Color Guard of Homestead Senior High School Air Force.

Barton G. will be serving boxed lunches. The event is free for all guests but you do need to make a reservation at arshtcenter.org if attending.

Today also honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and guests can give support by bringing school supplies, toiletries, and new undergarments to donate to Chapman Partnership, a Homeless Assistance Center in downtown Miami.
