Pop-up restaurant AK Supper Club reopened last week in Venice and will now be featuring a rotating chefs concept in the kitchen.

According to Alona Hamilton-Cooke, owner of Capri, her pop-up AK Supper Club plans to revitalize itself by bringing in different chefs every once in a while to spice up the menus. Currently, Benedicto Geil of Joe’s is cooking up dishes such as pink scallop crudo and Peruvian mint poached black cod.

Housed in Hamilton-Cooke’s Capri restaurant for less than two months, AK Supper Club has already had numerous rumored ups and downs. After canceling service last weekend due to a staff member’s “personal problem”, AK Supper Club is now re-opened with changes in the kitchen, AK Supper Club has apparently parted ways with French Laundry veteran Kevin Kathman and Dustin Taylor, who worked in the kitchen through the July.

AK Supper Club popped-up in Venice replacing Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing at Capri. When it opened Hamilton-Cooke said, “Dustin and Kevin are both working for the restaurant. If it goes for a while this might change.” Apparently having always been open to the idea of bringing in new chefs from time to time for the AK Supper Club concept, Hamilton-Cooke appears to have stuck to her original intentions.

On August 16, AK Supper Club’s Facebook page announced, “Chef Benedicto Geil will be our guest chef for the next two weeks.” Menu items from Geil include pink scallop crudo, braised pork, seared lamb and more.
