New Wine Country Restaurant “Goose & Gander” To Open In April

St. Helena will welcome Goose & Gander, a restaurant specializing in traditional American fare with a modern twist, this April.

The 4,200-square-foot dining and bar space will be housed in the former Martini House on Spring Street. Guests can expect a renovated entrance, refreshed lounge area and refurbished seating area, complete with reclaimed redwood tables and rich leather booths. A private dining area will open to small groups, and a re-landscaped garden area with a koi pond and fire feature seats 66.

Executive Chef Kelly McCown will head up culinary efforts at Goose & Gander. He comes to the project from Sacramento’s Ella Dining Room and Bar, and he previously worked as opening chef de cuisine at the former Martini House. The 25-year hospitality industry veteran will introduce a menu headlined by local, seasonal ingredients.

Joining McCown will be Bar Manager Scott Beattie, a former Martini House bartender, and Wine Director Cristina Merrigan, a certified sommelier who comes from Morimoto Napa.
