On Nov. 2 in New York City, the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and L’Oréal Paris teamed up to host the ultra luxe L’Oréal Legends Gala at the iconic American Museum of Natural History to raise money for ovarian cancer research. The star studded gala was hosted by Julianna Margulies and boasted many A-list attendees, such as Kelly Ripa, who received the OCRF Legends Award. Other awards bestowed upon deserving attendees were the Liz Tilberis Humanitarian Award, given to Michael L. Gordon and Sally Gordon. There was also a tribute to Joseph Campinell, the former president of consumer products at L’Oréal USA. Also attending the gala were L’Oréal Paris spokespeople Andie MacDowell, Kerry Washington and Aimee Mullins. The evening also included a cocktail reception and luxury auction, where attendees could bid on high-end wares. L’Oréal Paris has been dedicated to ovarian cancer research since 1997; the gala raises money for research, awareness and finding a cure for the disease. The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund is the largest nonprofit, private organization that focuses solely on funding ovarian cancer research.
