Haute 100 Update: Zuckerberg Hints at the Integration of a Facebook Music Streaming Feature – Likely with ‘Spotify’

Ever on the pathway to legend, Mark Zuckerberg continues to drive Facebook forward. The latest project for the social media stalwart is said to be a long-anticipated music service. Zuckerberg fanned the flames of speculation yesterday when he told reporters of plans to “launch something awesome” next week.

There have been reports that Facebook has been working on developing some sort of music feature that will incorporate several music services, including Spotify, Europe’s booming music streaming service that has lately garnered attention in the States.

The two web heavyweights have recently discussed integrating the service into Facebook once Spotify fully launches in the US. A source claims that the two came to an agreement, but that could not yet be confirmed.

Angela Watts, a Spotify spokesperson, said, “We have a good relationship with Facebook in that we have an integration on Facebook Platform [in Europe] that has been valuable in terms of driving engagement with the Spotify service.”
