Haute Technology: New Transparent Tablet PC – Fujitsu Iris

News | August 26, 2011

Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be another type of tablet out on the market, there is. The Iris is a transparent touchpad with an OLED display that uses wireless charging technology and is able to scan documents, translate texts and work as an efficient navigator.

Among the many cool features of the Fujitsu Iris are a speaker, a camera, a scanner, text translation, a sketch option, and navigation. When using the navigation function, the indication signs look like they are on the street and can help increase the accuracy of pedestrian navigation. The Iris also features a segmentation function that allows two people to simultaneously work on it, or divide the screen for two purposes.

The reality amplification application and the electronics compass on the Iris allows the user to intuitively see how a design will look in the real space.

The Iris is designed by Lui-Wei, Yao Kai-Chi, Hong Ruei Hong and Cheng Ya-Fang.
