J.Crew’s Spring Catalog Pays Tribute to Old Hollywood

In December, J.Crew’s President and Executive Creative Director Jenna Lyons, had a fling with some of Los Angeles’ most esteemed landmarks. The outcome: a Hollywood affair to remember, which is splashed about in the mega label’s just-released spring 2011 catalog.

Stylishly bouncing from destination to destination, including the Chateau Marmont, Stahl House, and Paramount Studios, Lyons sent classic female beauties and dashingly handsome “Mad Men” star Sam Page on a sunny stroll through a simulation of Old Hollywood. Lyons, heavily responsible for the label’s revolutionary revival, loves destination shoots. Last summer, she chose Guatemala, but why Los Angeles this time around? “We’ve been looking at LA more for a point of view on glamour,” Lyons says in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

And boy is the collection full of glamour, casual glamour. Lookbook previews have afforded us and other J.Crew fans a sneak peak at the collection. Chalk full of crisp white sport coats, pastel colored tops and bottoms, pedal pushing denim, and nautical stripes, the assortment of springtime staples is more than appropriate for a cruise with Audrey Hepburn and Carey Grant. We love our designer Chanel suits and stylish Gucci dresses; but sometimes it’s a simply classic piece from J.Crew that can pull any look together.

The spring collection is in stores now. Look out for the catalog’s online debut today at jcrew.com.
