On Jan. 20, it will be a joint effort of two masters of their art form. The Macallan Single Malt will host the U.S. debut of its brand new collection from the esteemed Albert Watson Masters of Photography Series while also introducing us to their limited selection of 200 bottles of The Macallan Sherry Oak 20 Years Old and 36 bottles of The Macallan 1946 whisky.
Both will be available for purchase; the Sherry Oak will be sold for $1,000 a bottle. The special 1946 will feature a specially commissioned label by Watson and a set of 10 unique portfolio prints; those 36 bottles from the year Watson first met his wife Elizabeth, will be available for purchase later this year for $16,000 per bottle.
For this special project, the revered photographer, Albert Watson, will also display photos from his 12-day journey photographing The Macallan’s signature Sherry Oak casks and The Macallan’s home in Scotland. Watson is the winner of the prestigious Royal Photographic Society’s 2010 Centenary Medal.
