Haute Event: Philharmonic Orchestra Season Opening Concert & Dinner

On Friday, Oct. 29, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas held their Season Opening Concert at Lincoln Center, which was immediately followed by a celebratory dinner at Agua Dulce restaurant.

The orchestra performed the famous Aaron Copland classical number, A Lincoln Portrait, led by conductor Alondra de la Parra. The piece included a special appearance by actor Chris Noth, who accompanied the music with recited excerpts from famous Abraham Lincoln speeches. The concert also included numbers from Pulitzer- and Grammy-winning composer Jennifer Higdon’s Concerto for Orchestra, and composer Carlos Chávez’s Horsepower Suite. The evening was such a success that the audience delivered a standing ovation, which sparked the orchestra to perform two encores.
