Zoo II Hosts Annual Fur Ball

On Oct 2, 2010, Zoo II, an organization of young professionals and San Francisco Zoo supporters, hosted their annual Fur Ball.

Guests were greeted at the entrance to the San Francisco Zoo with a presentation of live animals from the Zoo’s Animal Rescue Center. Partygoers were welcome to interact with the animals, including an alligator, armadillo, ball python, ferret, and peregrine falcon, while learning facts from Zoo staff.

On hand was a selection of Cabot Cheese, Kim Crawford wine, and Mumm champagne for guests to enjoy, while taking rides on the Zoo’s carousel. Attendees socialized, while browsing the silent auction items and enjoying music spun by DJ Solomon. VIP guests were treated to a special tour of the Zoo and the Lion House. During the live auction, guests were able to bid for the privilege to name a baby penguin and baby Chilean flamingo. The auctioneer was special guest, Hooman Khalili, from the Alice 97.3’s  Sarah and Vinnie morning show.

Zoo II is a social club of zoo-supporting San Francisco young professionals dedicated to expanding conservation and awareness, while providing and encouraging financial support of the San Francisco Zoo. Through this organization, members are able to connect to others in the community, while enjoying a variety of social activities. All proceeds from the Fur Ball went to benefit the San Francisco Zoo and it’s community and educational programs.
