Think Pink: Saks Fifth Avenue’s Key to the Cure
Kicking off their efforts with Susan G. Komen and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Saks Fifth Avenue at South Coast Plaza celebrated in high style with reception to showcase the season’s latest trends. It was the start of an entire weekend of charity shopping, revelers took in fashion while fighting women’s cancers.
The third floor of the store, which features the shoe salon that you’ve come to love and the store’s designer collections, was filled with celebration Oct. 21. Among shoe salon’s designers like Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, Yves Saint Laurent, Kate Spade and more, models mingled with shoppers as they browsed the brands’ latest collections. On display were special hot pink items that were designed specifically for Saks’ fight against women’s cancers. Fuchsia and pink shoes from YSL, Marc Jacobs and more were available while the models showed the latest cocktail dresses from Marchesa and more.
Classics like the YSL Tribute sandal were given the pink treatment, but there was more to see than just pink. The newest designer collections (alongside the hors d’ouvres and champagne) were on full display, featuring trends like fur, leather and lace. While the models showcased cocktail, Saks’ own Rachel Jackson-Smith pulled looks that highlighted the best of fall’s collections. Kicking off the entire weekend’s festivities and shopping charity event, it was a great start to a great cause.
Saks Fifth Avenue is located at 3333 Bristol St. at South Coast Plaza, in Costa Mesa. For more information on Key to the Cure or Saks, visit their official web site.
