Vogue and Bloomingdale’s Host Ports 1961 Event

On Thursday, September 30, 2010, San Francisco’s Vogue 100 members Dr. Carolyn Chang, Jessica Mullins and Sabrina Buell hosted a Ports 1961 event with designer Fiona Cibani.

Approximately 150 guests were invited to the occasion, where they sipped cocktails, nibbled on hors d’oeuvres and enjoyed live deejay music. Attendees were given an opportunity to view the Ports 1961 fall 2010 collection with a live model presentation. In addition, samples from the spring 2011 collection were also on hand for preview. In attendance were such esteemed guests as Mai Le, Rachel May and Joy Bianchi. This exclusive party was held at Bloomingdale’s San Francisco in their Designer Collections department.

Ports 1961 was founded by the late designer, Luke Tanabe, in 1961. It is currently run by Tia and Fiona Cibani who have served as the Creative Directors and Chief Designers of the fashion house since 1992. Ports 1961 is a contemporary ready-to-wear woman’s line with multi cultural and international influences. It aims to achieve chic designs without sacrificing comfort, making it the perfect collection for the modern global female.
