On Saturday, October 26, 2010, Macy’s is hosting their annual Shop for a Cause event. With a small $5 donation, participants will be given a shopping pass that will provide significant storewide discounts.
Shoppers will receive 20% off anything purchased that day, with 10% off any sale or clearance purchases. Additionally, participants can use the shopping pass for 25% off one regular, sale or clearance item in men’s, women’s or kids apparel or accessories. All the proceeds from the $5 shopping passes will be donated directly to local charities, which include Feeding America, The Family Violence Prevention Fund and other designated charities.
This is Macy’s 5th year organizing their Shop for a Cause event which has helped raise over $34 million for local charities across the nation. “Macy’s is proud to invite our customers to join us in giving back to the causes that make a difference both locally and nationally,” said Martine Reardon, executive vice president of Marketing for Macy’s. “In 2009, the Shop for s Cause program raised more than $6 million for nearly 10,000 charities across the country. We are once again looking forward to helping to make a positive impact in our communities.”
