Pumpkin in the Park

With the autumn season in full effect, now is the perfect time to engross yourself in the season’s produce and harvest. Also, with Halloween just a few days away this family-friendly event could not have come at a better time. Just before you put on your most creative costumes, hunt for candy or party the night away at the most festive shindig; stop by Piedmont Park’s Green Market this Saturday October 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and show your decorating and carving skills, as pumpkins will be available for all participants to add their own unique personal touch and take them home to further bask in all the spirit and fun of Halloween.

For just $10 per person, enjoy the chance to roll up your sleeves and dig into all the beautiful, plump and colorful pumpkins that make this time of year so very memorable and so much fun. Let your creativity shine because any tools you may need to craft a masterpiece will be provided for you. Presented by the Piedmont Park Conservancy Community Center, this event also gives back to the community in addition to providing an outlet for family fun and entertainment.

Whether you choose to bring your own plump pumpkin from home or use the ones provided, be prepared to get messy as you dig inside and get all of the gooey parts out to make way for your one of a kind creation. After the spooky scares of Halloween are over, be sure to visit the Green Market at Piedmont Park every Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m. featuring the best local produce, artisan cheeses, fresh flowers and natural wares and merchandise.
