Get a Taste: Taste of Atlanta 2010

Get ready to taste the best cuisine and culinary fare that the city of Atlanta has to offer. This weekend October 23rd and 24th, all Atlanta foodies will be out in full force as they celebrate this year’s edition of Taste of Atlanta featuring some of the best restaurants, chefs and dishes from Atlanta and the Southeast as well. So grab all your family, friends and fellow foodies and head on down to Tech Square in Midtown for a TASTEful weekend!

All the delicious fun begins on Saturday afternoon, with many varying events and attractions that carry over into Sunday’s festivities. Both days’ events commence at 11 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. There is literally something of interest for everyone deciding to attend, children, aspiring chefs, entertainment enthusiasts and local foodie addicts will all have their needs met with the varying events scheduled to take place in celebration of one of Atlanta’s most anticipated and celebrated festivals.

To get a taste (pun intended) of all the appetite-inducing fun in store, here are is a listing of events covering the weekend celebration. First up, there is a Family Food Zone featuring food from some of Atlanta’s leading family friendly restaurants, also on the Family Food Zone stage there will be junior chefs demonstrating their technique and favorite recipes. The informative Farm to Festival Village features restaurants committed to using locally grown and produced products in their dishes, this event also has an accompanying cooking stage with samples and in-depth demonstrations. Popular attraction, Inside the Food Studio is an interview session with some of Atlanta’s leading chefs as it gives you a glimpse into the mind of a culinary master. This year it is hosted by hometown favorite Tom Sullivan. The highly entertaining Main Cooking Stage has regular demonstrations and tastings every 45 minutes to an hour and is the perfect event to bring the whole family to. It’s a great way to get up close and personal with your favorite chefs and your favorite restaurants. Additional events include a silent auction and an entertainment line-up including some of the city’s best artists and musicians. Tickets are $25 in advance, $35 day of the event and VIP tickets are $75 in advance and $80 day of event. Children 13 and under are admitted free with an accompanying paid adult. Note: Taste Coupons are required to purchase any food from participating restaurants. 15 coupons are provided with general admission and 20 coupons are available with VIP tickets. Additional coupons may be purchased as needed. No pets or outside food or drink allowed.

Taste of Atlanta is located in Tech Square in Midtown. The event site will encompass 5th Street from Techwood to West Peachtree Street and Spring Street from Biltmore Place to Armstead Place.
