Say Cheese! Leica Boutique at the Willoughby’s Imaging Center
Leica Boutique is now open for business at the Willoughby’s Imaging Center.
A symphonic medley of Leica’s craftsmanship, technology, and precision with the historic charm of New York City’s oldest photographic equipment and accessories store Willoughby’s makes for a most pleasant experience for even the savviest of luxury clientele.
“We are proud to offer Leica Camera clients and fans this distinctive new venue to explore our products,” remarked Leica Camera Inc. President Roger Horn (pictured above). “Both Willoughby’s and Leica Camera have a significant place in the photography industry’s rich history and we are excited to bring lasting synergy to both our brands through this partnership.”
To celebrate the opening, Alex McCord, Patrick McMullan and Matthew Modine hosted a private “cocktails and cameras” party. A special selection of works by filmmaker/fashion photographer Nevil Dwek, who shot the photographs for the July issue of Elle Brazil with a Leica S2 Camera was displayed for the opening.
Guests enjoyed Dwek’s work over Solerno cocktails, tunes by DJ Bruce Marshall, and an auction of a Nevil Dwek print for Matthew Modine’s charity Bicycle for a Day. Fabulous red icing Leica Cookies made the evening even sweeter.
The auction of Dwek’s print on the opening party went for $1,100 to support Bicycle for A Day. In case you missed the opening, Willoughby’s pledged to donate a percentage of proceeds from sales of all Leica products from June 13-20th to Bicycle for A Day. So if you haven’t already, swing by the Leica store for a tour of their full product line, a chance to support charity. From a new point-and-shoot to rangefinder and medium format systems and binoculars, you too can now shop for Leica in NYC.
