It’s not everyday that you get to call a former U.S. vice president your neighbor, but Saturday marked that kind of day for some Montecito residents who call this posh part of southern California home.

We learned over the weekend that former vice president and environmental PowerPoint presenter, Al Gore and his wife Tipper, purchased an $8.875 million-oceanfront villa in the California neighborhood of Montecito.

What does that kind of investment get you in the 93108 zip code these days? A whole lot of fanciness like swimming pools, spas, fountains, wine cellars, and a lot of land too, like one-and-a-half acres-worth.

Reportedly the Gores’ new real estate investment comes with nine bedrooms, six fireplaces, 6,500 square feet, and neighbors like Oprah Winfrey and Michael Douglas.
