Culinary Geniuses Unite for Haiti Relief

Massive relief efforts and fundraisers keep pouring in for those affected in the Haiti Earthquake disaster (thankfully). Next Haiti relief fundraiser in line: The InterContinental Miami Hotel’s, “Chefs with a Purpose: Haiti,” slated for March 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This fundraiser will be brought to you in joint efforts by the InterContinental Miami Hotel, International Firefighters Assistance (IFA) and some of the nation’s top chefs. The fundraiser will benefit the IFA’s continued efforts in Haiti (specifically Port-Au-Prince), and we mean ALL the proceeds (not just a percentage).

The fundraiser will feature many tasting stations, including samples from each respective restaurant’s signature menu offerings. Notable chefs include Andrea Curto-Randazzo from Talula, Clay Conley from the Mandarin Oriental Miami, Jonathan Eismann from Pacific Time, Douglas Sisk from Atlantis Paradise Hotel & Resort in the Bahamas, Jonathan Wright from The Setai, Tim Andriola from Timo and many others. Along with the enormous amount of delicious eats, cocktails and champagne (courtesy of Chopin Vodka, Chandon, Lapostolle and Terrazas de los Andes, no doubt) will be generously served and music will be spun by DJ Joe Dert.

To add to the many benefits of attending, there will also be a silent auction, with many complimentary weekend stays, spa treatments and restaurant tastings up for grabs. To be a little more specific, there will also be premium Miami Heat tickets, a Dwyane Wade autographed plaque and a private, in-house cooking session with one of the aforementioned chefs. Admission will be granted when a donation of $50 is given (read: admission price is $50), which will continue to help train emergency workers of all types in underprivileged countries. Together, the IFA and these emergency workers have already helped the 75,000-plus victims of the disaster. Now this is something that benefits everyone.
