VIPs and Miami Celebrities Will Celebrate “Yappy Hour” at Epic
The social season is coming to a close here in Miami, but that doesn’t mean that it’s time to put away your designer duds just yet, as there are still a few more noteworthy cocktail parties on the books for the month of April.
There are few things that South Florida “ladies who lunch” love more than pampering their expensive pooches. It is as much a part of our culture as fancy cars on South Beach, Latin music blaring from every corner, and spending more than half of the year, more than half naked on the beach.
In an ode to our furry friends, pet authority Wendy Diamond is rolling into town and several of our favorite philanthropists are throwing a party to celebrate her book, as part of her nationwide Yappy Hour Rescue Tour, which will be making stops in Miami, San Francisco, Boston, and Philadelphia.
Tanya Clark, Katrina Campins, Karla Dascal, Elisa Gelb, Leslie Golan, Matt Heien, Jacqueline Powers, Annette Torres, Josette Wys and David Young—and their dogs—are hosting one haute soiree at Epic Hotel on Thursday, April 15. Diamond’s book, It’s a Dog World: The Savvy Guide to Four-Legged Living is billed as a culmination of a decade of Wendy’s experience in the pet business, along with the help of her own pup Lucky. Official word on the deets of the fete: “Yappy Hour” is a caninelicious party where everyone can bring their favorite furry friends along for a howling good time. It’s the only place where pet parents can party like an animal, with their animals, and everyone goes home with their tails wagging.
Tickets are $50 and benefit the Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet. For Tickets please log onto www.animalfair.com or call 212.629.0392 x204.
