Celebrities Attend Opening Ceremony’s Fashion Show At Disneyland

Opening Ceremony is known for doing things against the grain and Wednesday night was no exception. The haute fashion brand invited celebrities and LA’s fashion crowd to put on their Mickey Mouse ears and head to Disneyland for its spring 2018 fashion show, aptly titled “The Happiest Show on Earth.”

Sitting in the front row were Orange Is The New Black’s Laverne Cox, Chance the Rapper, actress Tallulah Willis, DJ Diplo, Bridesmaids star Maya Rudolph, actress Olivia Holt, Grownish stars Chloe and Halle Bailey, singer Sabrina Carpenter, and actress Jamie Chung and her hubby Bryan Greenberg.

OC’s founders Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, who are longtime Disney fans, took over Toontown after hours to present their spring 2018 collection alongside a new Disney capsule as part of the “Mickey The True Original” global campaign toasting Mickey Mouse’s 90th anniversary this year. This is the first time a fashion show has been held at the Happiest Place on Earth in over 40 years.

Models walked down the runway rocking men’s, women’s, and unisex pieces boasting an elevated twist on classic Disney gear. Think playful Mickey Mouse-printed silk dresses, taffeta pants, poplin gowns with circular sleeves that resemble ears, nylon tracksuits, and a wool varsity jacket sporting Disney and Opening Ceremony patches.

The mouse of the hour, Mickey Mouse himself, also made an appearance at the show alongside his girl Minnie both donning Opening Ceremony designs of course.

The fantastical fashion show also featured an original score by Ezra Rubin (also known as Kingdom) inspired by “It’s A Small World” and a performance by Mickey’s Soundsational Parade cast members complete with a marching band.

After the show, the stylish guests stayed a little longer for the after party that featured music, rides, and cotton candy.
