This month, Pechanga Resort Casino debuted 568 new rooms, a 4.5 acre pool complex, two new restaurants and a two-level luxury spa with fitness and yoga studios to the tune of $300 million, making this Temecula locale the largest resort/casino on the west coast. Book a corner suite and enjoy views of the rolling Temecula hills, Journey at Pechanga golf course and twinkling lights of the Temecula Valley from your floor-to-ceiling windows in these 650-square foot suites. Dare we say it, but the most impressive thing about these suites are its bathrooms, thanks to quartz countertops, indigenous and locally created artwork, halo-lit vanity mirrors, in-shower benches, h and-held and rain dome shower heads and oversized soaking tubs.

Guests won’t want for options at Pechanga. There are two new restaurants in the California bistro and bar-style Lobby Bar. Here, Chef Jose Mendoza takes the California bistro concept and twists it, serving a flavorful fusion of American, Mexican and Asian-inspired fare. Numerous vegetarian dishes are available here, as are hand-crafted cocktails infused with local fruits and herbs. Then there’s The Great Oak Steakhouse, which grills up prime Angus to perfection with a wine list recognized by Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast. There’s also Umi Sushi & Oyster Bar; Paisano’s Italian; the Pan-Asian Bamboo; the all-American Journey’s End; Kelsey’s steakhouse; and the Thai-Chinese noodle bar, Blazing Noodles.

At Spa Pechanga, a 25,000-square foot sanctuary of luxury, wellness and serenity designed for year-round rejuvenation of the mind, body and spirit, guests will experience relaxation areas with panoramic views of the surrounding hillside and amenities, such as steam rooms, saunas, whirlpools, a fitness facility and outdoor patios. The treatment menu is extensive (32 pages!) with fabulous signature treatments like the Waves of Sound massage—which utilizes a zero-gravity relaxation chair—and the Diamond Experience, a facial treatment that restores skin tone and luminosity while preserving long-lasting hydration and improving elasticity
PLAY
Pechanga is a casino after all, so expect your prerequisite slots, high-limit tables, Bingo and table games, but there’s much more to do than just gamble. There are three venues on site with the Eagle’s Nest, The Cabaret Lounge and The Comedy Club, where big names like Steven Tyler perform (he actually played at the renovation’s official unveiling event).There’s Journey at Pechanga, the resort’s par-72, links-style award-winning golf course designed by noted architects, Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest, newly updated shops, and, of course, the new pool complex with its private sun-deck cabanas: a perfect place to while away those dry summer days.
