Elyse Walker’s Newport Beach Outpost Is Your Home Away From Home

For the past seventeen years, Elyse Walker‘s Pacific Palisades boutique has been a staple for fashion forward Angelenos. Now, the Orange County jet set is getting their dose of Walker’s cool and curated couture now that she’s officially opened her first store at Newport Beach’s Lido Marina Village.
Inside the chic yet minimal space as designed by LA based architects Marmol Radziner, shoppers will find elegant touches like glittering chandeliers, a Harvey Probber velvet couch, black and white dripped RETNA art (including a Warhol-like wall of Kate Moss pictures) and two pink velvet Bacharach swivel chairs.

There’s something for everyone at Walker’s 12,000 square foot home away from home, which has a beachy aesthetic despite the fact that it’s housed in a restored bank, including a dedicated fine jewelry area in “The Vault,” a designer store carrying brands like Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Manolo Blahnik, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, year-round beachwear and swimsuits, a cafe and, yes, even a salon for the gal who’s looking for one-stop shopping.
The woman her shop caters to is someone like Walker herself. “When I went to Newport, I describe it as kind of like when you met your boyfriend or your husband to be,” she told WWD. “This is a community. This is like the Palisades. This is a place that I want to hang out.”

She isn’t the first to realize the massive appeal of Lida Marina Village: other brands that have opened boutiques here recently include Steven Alan, Aesop, Warby Parker, Jenni Kayne, Bailey44, and Clare V. Le Labo, Velvet, Black Optical and Serena and Lily will open later this year, as will Nobu’s highly anticipated Newport Beach outpost.
