We know you love Missoni prints—those iconic patterns synonymous with cool Euro chic. What’s amazing about pattern-driven labels like Missoni and Pucci is how they manage to come up with fab new ideas each fashion season, yet remain true to their brand’s stylistic DNA. Not easy work!
Missoni found a new following in recent years, thanks to its fresh modern design and a stylish in-house ambassador, the glam Margherita Maccapani Missoni, granddaughter of founder Tai and Rosita Missoni, who runs in the chicest art and society circles and is Missoni’s accessories director.
For Spring/Summer 2016, M Missoni, the brand’s spirited, lesser-priced line, has an edgy verve with kaleidescopic color palettes, sharp silhouettes, and cultural references that are both sophisticated and ironic, ranging from circus allusions to 1940s style.
With handbags, it’s go big or go small. The design of one chunky handbag uses circus motifs to play off an update of haute bourgeois chic; totes are lavished with intricate pattern.
The labels wildly popular raffia bag—a must if Forte dei Marmi or Positano are part of your travel plans this summer—comes in a new heftier version.
For shoes, M-Missoni is betting on a retro-modern feel with a Carmen Miranda high wedge that alludes to 1940s styles. Platforms look very 2016 with plexiglas detailing and for those who like to keep it closer to the ground, there are semi-tapered ballerinas, with multicolored raffia, and a stars-and-stripes forever pattern, perfect for Independence Day.
