Basketball enthusiasts can rejoice. The National Basketball Association is slated to release the newest installment to its NBA 2K series this fall. Touted to be the “most-true-to-life NBA experience to date,” the NBA 2K16 is ramping up for promo season starring NBA’s MVP and champion Stephen Curry.

The trailer for the 17th installment of one of sports most coveted games chronicle Curry’s rise to the top. For those of you who did not follow Curry since the beginning of his basketball career, here’s your chance. The trailer recounts when Curry was recruited from high school in North Carolina to a superstar college athlete at Davidson University to his epic impact with the Golden State Warriors.  We get to witness the 27-year-old during the 2014-2015 basketball season as well as enjoy all the greatest moments all over again.

The concept for this year’s game is “Be the Story.” It is narrated and directed by Brooklyn native Spike Lee. The acclaimed filmmaker worked with Curry and other players featured in the game to get real depictions of the players’ story. Lee’s focus was to create a more in depth story during “MyCareer” mode, which will introduce gamers to the social and business challenges that professional sports players face.

This is the first of three stories to come from NBA 2K16, which will feature three cover athletes. In addition to Curry, James Harden and Anthony Davis will also appear on the 2K16 covers and share their stories.

It was announced earlier this summer Lee would combine his love for storytelling with his love for basketball. Lee is an avid Knicks fan.

In an interview with ESPN, Jeff Thomas, vice president of sports development at Visual Concepts, said, “Spike was really receptive when I first met with him. He actually said to us, ‘It’s about time I worked with 2K.’ He loves basketball, and this is a new frontier for him.”
