French fashion house Christian Dior has announced Johnny Depp as the face of its forthcoming Dior’s men’s scent.
The first photo from the ad features a smoldering Depp wearing guyliner, layered necklaces and the just right amount of unkempt hair. While the perfume is yet to be revealed, this will be Depp’s first-ever fragrance campaign.
The French fashion house has a knack for tapping the hottest men in Hollywood, having selected a dashing Jude Law for Dior Homme Sport and Dior Homme Intense and a steamy Robert Pattinson for Dior Homme.
The forthcoming scent, which was created by Dior perfumer François Demachy, is set to launch in September. It will be the first new men’s fragrance from the house in 10 years.
In a statement on Dior’s site, the fashion brand said, “For three generations of viewers, Johnny Depp is an utterly unique Hollywood icon, capable of taking on all roles, from the most realistic characters to the most fantastic figures dreamed up by Tim Burton, and as comfortable in front of the camera of such cutting-edge auteurs as Emir Kusturica or Jim Jarmusch as he is in global blockbusters like Pirates of the Caribbean. Which new character will this legendary actor be playing for Dior? You’ll have to wait until September to find out!”
The oh-so-handsome Depp joins pop star Rihanna, whose Secret Garden campaign was unveiled last month, actress Charlize Theron, who made J’Adore perfume iconic and much more.
