The Rare Tour Brings Sydney Steakhouse Margaret to New York This September

New York City is set to welcome one of Australia’s most celebrated chefs this September when The Rare Tour Grand Slam Series brings Neil Perry and his Sydney restaurant Margaret to The Eighty Six in the West Village for two special evenings of fine dining.

Taking place on September 25 and 26, 2026, the collaboration will bring together The Eighty Six, one of New York’s newest destinations for serious steak lovers, and Margaret, Perry’s acclaimed Sydney restaurant. The two night event will focus on exceptional beef, premium ingredients, fine wine and the kind of hospitality that has made both restaurants stand out on the international dining scene.

Located at 86 Bedford Street in Manhattan’s West Village, The Eighty Six will host the dinners with Chef Partner Michael Vignola welcoming Neil Perry to New York. The collaboration offers diners an opportunity to experience two very different culinary perspectives in one intimate setting.

The Eighty Six made a significant impact during its first year, earning the No. 12 position in the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants ranking and taking the No. 1 spot in the United States. Margaret ranked No. 2 in the world, placing both restaurants among the leading destinations for steak enthusiasts.

At the heart of The Eighty Six is its carefully curated steak program. The restaurant features a rotating selection of premium steaks that are cut and aged in house in a Himalayan salt lined dry aging room beneath its century old bar. The approach gives the restaurant a distinctive identity within New York’s increasingly competitive steakhouse scene.

For the Rare Tour dinners, guests will be treated to an exclusive six course tasting menu created specifically for the New York collaboration. The menu will combine selected signatures from Margaret with the culinary style of The Eighty Six, featuring premium ingredients, exceptional beef, precise cooking techniques nd a selection of unique wagyu cuts.
