Sonya Molodetskaya: Gardening with Designer Stella McCartney

If I ever decide to create the perfect garden, I’m going to enlist the help of San Francisco Neiman Marcus.

I don’t think I ever saw the store looking as interesting as it did recently: the entire 3rd floor was transformed into a beautiful garden that would make any landscape specialist jealous. The grass, the roses, the painter who was capturing the garden scene, the informal modeling…it was all beautiful.

The event was a lunch with very special guest Stella McCartney, who was hosting an exclusive preview of her Autumn 2015 collection.

It seemed like the entire store was expecting Stella, and when she walked in, she was welcomed with the standing ovations by both employees and customers. Wearing her own designed denim ensemble, Stella McCartney was all smiles, and I could not help to instantly fall under the charm of her personality and cute British accent. We both were wearing Stella McCartney denim which created the immediate connection.

Stella McCartney once said: “Being out in the garden is nicer than sitting in a beautiful room, in my opinion. They bring you so much joy. We recharge our batteries in that environment. You have to feel extremely privileged to have a garden… I don’t take it for granted.”

I want to applaud the Neiman Marcus team who made it possible for us to personally meet one of the greatest designers and enjoy the amazing creation – Stella’s Garden.
