Audemars Piguet Hosts Fourth International Golf Invitational Tournament in San Francisco
The world’s greatest golfers converged in San Francisco on Monday to take part in Audemars Piguet’s fourth International Golf Invitational Tournament. The action on the greens was part of a series of events hosted by the watchmaker, which also included a tasting of fine Napa Valley wines, a cocktail reception in the Penthouse at The Fairmont San Francisco and an exciting round of golf attended by seven of the brand’s prestigious golf ambassadors.
The tournament, which took place at Half Moon Bay Golf Links, was a celebration of the Swiss watch brand’s deep ties to the world of professional golf. Recent Fedex Cup winner Billy Horschel was invited to join seven members of Audemars Piguet’s team of golf Ambassadors, a prestigious list of athletes that include: 6-time Major champion Sir Nick Faldo, match play master Ian Poulter, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Open winner at St-Andrews in 2010 Louis Oosthuizen, and the two talented up-and-comers Victor Dubuisson and Bud Cauley.
Audemars Piguet also welcomed a new member to its list of Ambassadors, Bernd Wiesberger, the first Austrian to compete in the Majors and a passionate fan of haute horlogerie.
The Bay Area tournament attracted a number of tech and business leaders, Many of whom also took part in a panel discussion centered aroud the question: “how time spent networking through golf helped develop their business.” The panel included Ian Poulter, owner of the clothing line IJP Design, Patrick Rahme; co-founder and CEO of golf-dedicated social media platform AllSquare and Audemars Piguet CEO François-Henry Bennahmias.
