The Hottest Makeup Trends for Spring 2015
Spring fever calls for bold makeup… and we mean the bolder the better. Leave your black eyeliner and heavy smokey eye in the past along with winter. This season, venture outside of your comfort zone and experiment with pops of blue eyeliner and deep burgundy lipstick. Need a little more inspiration? Check out the rest of our hot makeup trends for spring 2015.
THICK BROWS AND MINIMAL EYES
Eyebrows have the ability to completely change the look of your face. Many women don’t realize the impact that perfectly arched and shaded in eyebrows can have on your appearance. With eyebrow pencils, gels, and other tools, filling in your own eyebrows has become easier than ever. The best part about bold eyebrows–you don’t have to pile on the makeup! Add a dash of mascara and swipe of lipgloss to complete your look. For makeup newbies, we suggest the easy-to-use Benefit Gimmie Brow brush and gel with added color in two shades. For those who prefer shading with a pencil, try Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil, which comes with a brush on one end.
BOLD BLUE LINER
Blue is the “it” color for eyeliner this spring. Make your eyes pop by lining your inner eyelid with a powdery baby blue, or go bold by creating a cat-eye winged effect using a darker deep blue hue. To avoid looking too costumey, pair with a neutral lip. We like the YSL waterproof eye pencil or the Laura Mercier creme eye liner.
BRONZED CONTOURED CHEEKBONES
Contouring is all the rage these days, but even with all of the Instagram tutorials, it’s still hard to do for those who aren’t very makeup savvy. What you can do however, is invest in some makeup that makes it easy to define and bronze your cheekbones for a dewy look that will brighten your whole face. This Benefit Watt’s Up! highlighter comes in a luminous champagne color and is easy to apply with a soft blender tip. The Too Faced Cocoa Contour Chiseled to Perfection kit comes with a contouring brush and selected colors for the perfect contour.
OXBLOOD MATTE LIP
A perfectly-lined red matte lip can never do you wrong. Deeper reds are all the rage right now. An oxblood lipstick can dress up your ensemble effortlessly. But beware–you have to keep your eye makeup minimal to look chic, not overdone. NARS Fast Ride lipstick is a gorgeous deep red and MAC’s Isabel and Ruben Toledo limited edition lipstick in Sin is the perfect blood red.
