Over 400 guests gathered on February 20 for the Asian Art Museum’s opening night gala celebrating its latest exhibition, “China’s Terracotta Warriors: The First Emperor’s Legacy.”

The much-anticipated exhibit reveals a rare glimpse of 10 life-size terracotta warriors from the collection of more than 7,000 life-sized figures, which were first unearthed in 1974 in the underground burial complex of China’s First Emperor, Qin Shihuang. The exhibit is set to be unveiled on February 22 and will run through May 22.

The $3000 / ticket gala brought the Bay Area’s elite, including Yahoo CEO Marissa MayerYahoo co-founder Jerry Yang and his wife; president of Dior USA Pamela Baxter; former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown; Komal Shah and venture capitalist Gaurav Garg and museum patron Judy Wilbur.
