On December 7, Le Petit Papillon Montessori School will host their second annual family-friendly event, “Street Funk”, during the upcoming Art Basel Miami Beach. With few family-friendly events during Art Basel, Le Petit Papillon is breaking the mold and putting on a display intended to stimulate children’s senses and explore art appreciation.
For the second annual event series, Le Petit Papillon Montessori School will showcase photography installations, cinematic documentary on oversized inflatable screens, and literary works by the school’s toddler, Pre-K and elementary students. According to the press release, students will also “take the stage alongside locally renowned Miami street artist Daniel Fila of Krave Art as part of a live art mural presentation” and there will be a dance-off performance by Expressions of Talent Break Dancers.
The event, which is free to the public, will take place at Le Petit Papillon Montessori School in Miami Beach on December 7 from 6 – 8 p.m.
According to Le Petit Papillon’s website, the school offers students an exceptional Montessori education and also incorporates cultural enrichments to stimulate students’ natural analytical and critical thinking. Enrichment programs at the prestigious school include an art program, chess club, language workshops and various after-school sports. The exclusive campus grounds include meandering walkways, native vegetation, a koi pond, sports court, outdoor entertainment area, and exotic birds and other native wildlife. Around the campus there are buildings housing the classrooms, an art studio and a new state-of-the-art Science Laboratory.
