Methodology
How Haute MD Selects Distinguished Physicians
Haute MD is an invitation-only editorial network. Every physician featured on HauteLiving.com has passed a multi-criteria vetting process conducted by Haute Living's editorial team before their application is approved and their feature is published.
Our methodology is built around verifiable credentials, editorial independence, and ongoing review — not self-submitted claims or pay-for-placement.
Selection criteria
- Board certification by a recognized specialty board
- Active medical license in good standing
- Minimum years in practice (specialty-dependent)
- Specialty leadership and peer recognition
- Hospital affiliations and academic contributions
- Patient education and communication
- Media relevance and editorial fit
- Market reputation and referral standing
- No active disciplinary actions or sanctions
What vetting includes
Three layers of verification
License verification
State medical licenses are verified through official state medical board records. Verify any physician's license independently at your state medical board website.
Board certification
We verify board certification status through ABMS or relevant specialty boards.
Editorial review
Haute Living's editorial team independently reviews each application and writes all physician features — no self-submitted content.
What Haute MD membership is — and is not
Haute MD membership is a paid editorial platform. Inclusion represents Haute Living's editorial recognition of a physician's credentials and market standing — it is not a medical endorsement, clinical rating, or guarantee of outcomes. Patients should conduct their own research and consult their own physicians before making medical decisions.
Review and update policy
Physician profiles are reviewed annually. Members who no longer meet Haute MD's criteria are removed from the network.
