William D. Umansky, known as "The Lawman," is the Managing Partner of The Umansky Law Firm and a highly respected criminal defense and personal injury attorney based in Orlando, Florida. With over 30 years of legal experience, he represents clients throughout Central Florida and across Florida in a broad range of matters including criminal defense, DUI/DWI, personal injury from vehicular accidents, premises liability, and sexual abuse claims. A graduate of the University of Florida College of Law (1992) where he received top honors in negotiation and trial advocacy, Umansky earned his B.A. in Psychology (cum laude) from the University of South Florida. He studied at the Tulane Institute of European Legal Studies in Paris. Before establishing his firm in 1999, he served as an Assistant State Attorney and City Prosecutor for Orlando, trying over 100 jury trials and serving as Domestic Violence Division Chief. He is licensed in Florida and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida.
