Scott Ritsema

Scott Ritsema is a partner and trial lawyer at Bisnar Chase Personal Injury Attorneys, LLP, a plaintiff-side personal injury firm based in Newport Beach, California. Admitted to the State Bar of California in 1988 (Bar No. 138193), he spent roughly the first decade of his career as a defense attorney representing corporations and insurance companies before transitioning to plaintiff representation. He has been with Bisnar Chase since 2008. His practice focuses on catastrophic injury, auto defect, and product liability litigation, including cases involving seatback failures, defective seatbelts, and airbag failures. According to the firm, he has brought more than 20 trials to verdict, conducted more than 50 arbitrations, and handled over 25 cases totaling more than $100 million in recoveries.
