Rohom Khonsari's path to founding Khonsari Law Group began with a strong academic foundation and a deliberate immersion in the most demanding corners of Florida law. After earning his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Khonsari went on to earn his law degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana — one of the South's most prestigious law schools. Upon admission to the Florida Bar, he relocated to the Tampa Bay area and launched a career that would take him through the full spectrum of criminal and civil practice. He began as a prosecutor in the Pinellas County State Attorney's Office, where he handled and tried a broad range of serious felony cases — including DUI manslaughters, vehicular homicides, and high-profile violent crime cases. As a member of a specialized DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide team, Khonsari worked directly alongside law enforcement at crime scenes and was recognized in 2007 by a local DUI advocacy group as one of Pinellas County's top prosecutors in the field. That prosecutorial experience gave him something most defense attorneys simply do not have — an innate ability to anticipate exactly how the government thinks, prepares, and moves in a criminal case. It is an advantage he brings to every client he defends.

Following his time at the State Attorney's Office, Khonsari joined The Cohen Law Group — founded by renowned Tampa Bay attorney Barry Cohen — where he gained invaluable experience handling some of the region's most complex and sensitive criminal matters. His work there included representing a local bank executive on sexual battery charges that were ultimately dismissed, a local police officer facing DUI and leaving-the-scene charges, and a client in a nationally publicized case involving a teenage videotaped assault — a case that was featured on ABC's national television program 20/20.
