James D. Cardea

James D. Cardea is a partner at Schochor, Staton, Goldberg and Cardea, P.A. in Baltimore, Maryland, with more than 30 years of litigation and jury-trial experience. He concentrates his practice on medical malpractice, wrongful death, and personal injury matters on behalf of plaintiffs, and has served as lead counsel in numerous medical negligence cases across Maryland and Washington, D.C., as well as (on special motion) in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. He began his career representing health-care providers on the defense side before moving to plaintiffs' work. Cardea earned his undergraduate degree from McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College) and graduated cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1995, where he received American Jurisprudence Awards in Legal Analysis, Research & Writing (1992) and Domestic Relations (1994), served as a Staff Editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review, and was inducted into the Heuisler Honor Society. He was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1995 and the District of Columbia Bar in 1996.
