I came from California to visit my in-laws for the weekend as we are dealing with some health stuff. Point being - I wanted to surprise my mother-in-law with a spa day and since they live in a pretty rural part of NJ I wanted to come to Philly.
Unfortunately for me every place I called was booked up so I called this spa while on the plane. The doors were closing so I asked the woman on the phone to email me so I could send her what we needed. Before I lost internet I was able to request two massages and facials.
When I landed I saw I had booking confirmations for all 4 services and a kind note saying to call to give them my credit card number.
I got in around dinner time and then told my MIL our morning plans. She was excited.
Fast forward to the next morning and she was nervous to tell me she didn't like facials and more importantly it would mess up her hair which she only gets blown out once a week.
I called the spa thinking I would be shit out of luck. The owner happened to answer and could not be more understanding. She offered to extend the massage or swap out the service. She also suggested my MIL still do the facial but follow it up with a blow out at the salon ON THE SALON.
What customer service. During this difficult time for our family this supposed to be relaxing morning was just that and I am very grateful.
I highly highly recommend and every time we're back visiting my in-laws I'll be coming back here.
When there's a need for "me time", I strongly recommend the Richel D' Ambra Spa & Salon at the Ritz Carlton for a truly luxurious, ultimate spa and salon experience. While physical treatment is a nice gift for our bodies and senses, it is important to realign our energies and minds as well. There is no other spa in the city that is more sensually uplifting and spiritually elevating than the Richel D' Ambra Spa & Salon, a renowned hotel spa located on the beautiful Avenue of the Arts, the city's most cultured and aesthetically-defined boulevard.
Full service salon and spa in charming surroundings. It also smelled so good in there! The staff is LOVELY! They are gracious and professional! The complimentary water, champagne, mimosas and teas are all divine. It smells amazing in there (did I say that already?)! Even the hair dye smelled fantastic and that never happens! My friend had reflexology/foot massage and a head massage. I had a salon service. Both of us had lovely experiences and I'd go back again.
I had unexpected free time and was able to reserve a last-minute facial with Regina (50 minute deluxe hydra facial). The spa experience started with a visit to the steam room (the sauna was not warm enough) followed by a mimosa and relaxing moment in the lounge. Regina is a lovely person and incredibly skilled. Fabulous shoulder and arm massage/stretch in addition to the facial. I've not had a hydra facial before and definitely recommend it. My skin was dry and flaking (too much airplane/hotel time, too much caffeine) when I went in, but totally glowing and happy at the end. It still feels and looks well-hydrated a day later.
