The mission for a healing-centered med spa is an incredibly personal endeavor for Dr. Naylor. Having experienced a deeply traumatic facial injury when she was only 12 years old, she began a journey focused on wellness and healing. Dr. Naylor started her career in physical therapy before earning her RN, MSN, and finally graduating with distinction with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. Her clinical experience, combined with a foundational belief in beauty care as self-care, has helped shape the guiding principles of Skin Esteem Med Spa and Wellness Center.
Ultrasound as the Gold Standard of Patient Safety
With patient well-being at the forefront, Dr. Naylor is recognized as an expert in the use of facial ultrasound to support safety in aesthetic medicine. Facial ultrasound has become a valuable tool for identifying anatomical structures and guiding both pre- and post-injection assessments. Dr. Naylor’s doctoral research, conducted in collaboration with her mentor Dr. Peter Velthuis, focused on integrating ultrasound into aesthetic practice to elevate patient safety standards.
Their study was recently published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD), further contributing to the growing body of evidence supporting the use of ultrasound in aesthetics. This work not only informs her clinical approach at Skin Esteem Med Spa and Wellness Center but also fuels her commitment to helping other practitioners incorporate ultrasound into safe, effective, and ethical aesthetic care.

Dr. Naylor has demonstrated a clear commitment to her community and her patients. From pro-bono work for cancer survivors to donating medical supplies abroad and operating a COVID-19 vaccine clinic in her state of Massachusetts, Skin Esteem makes its commitment to service and better health clear.

As a trainer for Cutaneous Facial Ultrasound, Dr. Naylor is dedicated to advancing safety and ethics in aesthetic medicine through education. She continues to contribute to the field by mentoring others on ultrasound integration, peer-reviewing journal articles for JAAD and JCAD, and engaging in research to strengthen evidence-based practice. Her vision is to support the global development of aesthetic providers who prioritize patient well-being and foster a wellness-centered approach to care.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led a collaborative effort to vaccinate over 8,000 elderly and immunocompromised individuals, including homebound patients—an initiative that earned the trust of countless families. Her dedication to service and ethical care has become a hallmark of her practice and continues to resonate with her patients. In recognition of her efforts, Dr. Naylor was honored by the Governor of Massachusetts and named Nurse Heroine of the Year.

Within the industry, Dr. Naylor has been recognized as a Top 100 U.S. Injector for four consecutive years, among other honors—acknowledgments that reflect both her skill and her patient-centered approach to aesthetic care.
