HB: Do you notice a trend in specific body treatments as we approach the colder months?
The trend I notice is that patients are really interested in undergoing body-contouring surgery in the colder months. We see a significant increase in patients who want our signature TubelessTuck - Drainless Abdominoplasty/tummy tuck. Body liposuction with Renuvion (J-Plasma) tightening is also very popular. Patients can recover and wear compression garments under layers of clothing without anyone noticing. Also, since the healing process takes weeks to months, by the time spring and summer come around, the patients are fully healed and excited to enjoy their contoured physiques.
HB: What are patients' concerns when it comes to the body entering Fall/Winter?
The concerns in the fall/winter are the same concerns that the patient has throughout the year - excess fullness in the tummy, love handles, and upper back. Skin laxity on the stomach and upper back are also of concern. The Fall/Winter poses an ideal time to correct these concerns.

HB: How do they work?
TubelessTuck - Drainless Abdominoplasty/tummy tuck
TubelessTuck is a drainless surgical technique that I have has used in countless surgeries. This technique is applied to his abdominoplasty surgery (tummy tuck), mini-abdominoplasty surgery (mini tummy tuck), breast reductions, breast lifts (mastopexy), facelifts, as well as neck lifts.
The TubelessTuck abdominoplasty eliminates the use of these messy and painful drains by placing a series of dissolvable sutures in the abdomen to close up the dead space and prevent the fluid build-up.
Body liposuction with Renuvion (J-Plasma) & Tightening
Regardless of the modality used, all liposuction essentially involves making very small incisions and inserting a long, thin tube called a cannula that uses vacuum suction to remove fat. During liposuction, the treated area is infused with a solution of saline, local anesthetic, and epinephrine to reduce bleeding and bruising during the procedure as well as facilitate fat removal and minimize post-surgical discomfort. Most patients are concerned about visual scars. Incisions are carefully placed in natural skin creases and areas that usually covered by a bikini top or bottom so they are virtually undetectable once healed.
I use vibration-enhanced power-assisted liposuction, ultrasound-assisted liposuction, and laser-assisted liposuction (SmartLipo). The ideal approach depends on the area being treated, and if the overlying skin could benefit from a bit of tightening.
Renuvion
The way the procedure works is by delivering helium-based plasma energy to heat essential parts of the skin thereby triggering a lasting tightening effect. I treat the underside of the dermis (skin) by placing a probe through tiny little incisions (3 millimeters), smaller than even the liposuction incisions. The heat and the plasma cause a shrink wrap effect of the skin. Renuvion is the closest thing to the holy grail of skin tightening and skin quality improvement. The tiny incisions, that are just a few millimeters wide, deliver rapid heating followed immediately by cooling only heating the tissue and collagen without diffusing to the surface of the skin.
