Joel Warren Opens “Salons of the Future” with Saks Fifth Avenue

Saks Fifth Avenue and celebrity hairstylist Joel Warren are teaming up to realize a new salon concept.

The novel notion follows Warren’s The Salon Project venture, which pairs each client with a stylist, who tends to them from start to finish. The unification of services is to prompt a level of customization and intimacy that ordinary salons lack, Warren said to the New York Post.

“It’s a place to go where a woman comes in and gets taken care of, with the best trained stylists, curated products and gorgeous facilities,” said Warren. “It will be a totally new experience in beauty, and a new category.”

What Warren dubs “the salon of the future” will truly transport clients to what lies ahead in the beauty industry. It will boasts augmented realty technology that will allow customers to “try” colors and styles before settling on a particular look.

Private rooms and a medical spa will also be some of the features to fill out the 3,000sq. ft. flagship in Saks Fifth Avenue.

A dozen salons are slated to launch in Saks stores throughout the country.

Warren’s partnership with the luxury department store comes after Saks parted ways with Hillary Clinton’s personal hairdresser, John Barrett and filed a $11 million lawsuit of breach of contract (it has since been settled).

Early in 2017, Warren, who recently moved to Miami, opened the Salotto Beauty, which rests on the same bespoke concept. Housed in the One Hotel & Homes in South Beach, Florida, the salon has 6 chairs over 1,000sq. ft.
