As the popularity of Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedures continues to skyrocket, Haute Beauty had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Yuly Gorodisky, a leading expert in the field of cosmetic surgery, to uncover the latest trends in this sought-after treatment. BBL involves the transfer of fat from one area of the body to the buttocks, creating a more contoured and shapely appearance. Drawing from his extensive experience and expertise, Dr. Gorodisky shares the top three trends he has noticed in the world of BBL procedures.
1. Combination Procedures
One of the trends in BBL surgery is combining it with other cosmetic procedures. Patients are increasingly seeking to address multiple areas of concern simultaneously. This trend is called "stacking," and it involves combining procedures like liposuction, tummy tuck, breast augmentation, or even facial rejuvenation with BBL. Combining procedures saves patients time, money, and recovery time.
For example, a patient may opt for a tummy tuck, liposuction of the waist and back, and a BBL in a single procedure. This approach can create a more comprehensive transformation and results in a more dramatic overall improvement in body shape and contour.

2. Emphasis on Natural-Looking Results
Another trend is an increased emphasis on natural-looking results. In the past, BBL was associated with a very dramatic, exaggerated look. However, patients are now seeking more natural-looking results that enhance their natural curves and proportions.
The key to achieving natural-looking results is careful attention to the amount of fat transferred and the placement of the fat in the buttocks. Surgeons are now taking a more strategic approach to the procedure, creating subtle enhancements that are in line with the patient's natural curves and body shape. This approach results in a more proportionate and natural-looking outcome. Some patients who previously had large buttocks from a fat transfer are now looking into liposuction to reduce the size of their buttocks.
3. Evolving Techniques
Finally, the third trend in BBL surgery is the evolution of techniques. Surgeons are continually refining their techniques to improve results and patient safety. One of the latest techniques is the use of ultrasound imaging to plan the procedure. Imaging allows surgeons to create a more detailed picture of the patient's anatomy under the skin, helping them to place the fat more precisely and achieve more accurate results.
Another emerging technique is the use of injectable fillers to enhance the buttocks. This technique involves injecting a filler such as Sculptra into the buttocks to enhance their shape and size. While still relatively new, this technique shows promise as an alternative to traditional BBL surgery for patients who want a less invasive option.
BBL surgery continues to be one of the most sought-after cosmetic procedures in the world. With these trends, patients can expect to achieve more comprehensive and natural-looking results while benefiting from evolving techniques that improve patient safety and outcomes.
