My greatest achievement:
My children. Everything else pales in comparison.
What is the future of your field?
I think that we, as a species are terrible at predicting the future. In plastic surgery, my hope is that we progress toward improving patient safety and outcomes.
The biggest misconception about my field is...
That plastic surgery is vain or selfish, or that it is superficial. There is nothing vain about feeling better about yourself. An ethical surgeon with proper training has the ability to safely help patients improve their quality of life by repairing damage after trauma or cancer or birth defects, improving the appearance of areas that are a source of insecurity or self-consciousness, and by minimizing the physical signs of aging so that as we stay healthier and live longer we can maintain a youthful appearance as well.
My most requested procedures:
Breast augmentation, breast lifts, breast surgery revision, mommy makeover, abdominoplasty, and liposuction.
What surgical advancement are you most excited about?
All of them!
What are you best known for?
Complex secondary aesthetic breast surgery and correction of cosmetic breast complications.
What is your most memorable patient reaction?
Tears of joy. Gets me every time.
What sets my practice apart?
We are accessible, regular people, who know that we are extremely lucky to be able to do this for a living. That comes through in how we care for our patients. It is a privilege, and we pride ourselves on making sure our patients know that we truly do our best for them at every stage of their experience.
What I love most about my profession:
The ability to help make people feel better about themselves.
Career-defining procedure?
Aesthetic breast surgery revision.
