Sydney Sweeney’s Go-To Routine For Sensitive Skin And Soft Glam

Sydney SweeneyPhoto Credit: ShutterstockSydney Sweeney has had her fair share of mishaps when dealing with sensitive combination skin. The young actress, known for a variety of acclaimed television series and films, but most popularly for her role in HBO’s Euphoria, delved into her journey of finding the perfect routine for her skin with Vogue, and also shared her go-to soft glam look.

Sweeney revealed that she struggled with cystic acne from a young age, often begging her mom to let her stay home from school. As young teenagers, we all have gone through a phase where we searched for quick fixes to our acne problems – which usually turned into a disaster. Sweeney admits to trying quick fixes herself. In the 10th grade, she used toothpaste all over her face as a skincare treatment, which resulted in a severe breakout and having to use Band-Aids as a cover-up when going to school. Filled with wishful thinking, Sweeney noted how a skincare routine video such as the one she was currently filming would have been helpful for her younger self.

Sweeney begins her skincare routine by cleansing her face with a combination of Caudalie Vinoclean Deep Cleansing Exfoliator and Avène Cleanance Cleansing Gel. She then uses The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Serum and SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic, a vitamin c serum that protects, firms, and brightens the complexion of your skin. A generous amount of Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré is applied to assist in preventing her makeup from sliding off, followed by EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 – the only sunscreen that doesn’t create breakouts in her skin.

To begin her makeup routine, Sweeney goes in with a mattifying primer from Tarte to reduce shine from her naturally oily complexion, followed by her go-to choice of lip balm, Burt’s Bees. For foundation, Sweeney applies a light blend of Il Makiage then goes in with Becca Cosmetics Under Eye Brightening Corrector is a primer for her concealer. Lightly coated on her cheeks and nose for a sunkissed look is Glossier Cloud Paint for blush. After setting her concealer with powder, Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze & Glow is used to contour, highlight, and added as a warm tone eye shadow. Shimmering pink cream eye shadow, a brown winged-eye liner, and Maybelline mascara are used to finish off her eyes. To bring the look together Sweeney applies a touch of lip liner and tinted pink gloss.

While applying her soft glam look, Sweeney revealed that being on Euphoria has helped her in becoming more confident with makeup. It has made her realize that when creating “art on your face,” as she describes it, there is no wrong way in doing your makeup.

Sydney Sweeney is a glowing example of staying true to yourself within your skincare journey.
