While comparisons between Kim Kardashian West and her younger sister Kylie Jenner have abounded, often spurring a purported rivalry between the two, the realty divas have appeared oblivious of the similarity between fashion tastes.
Now, however, they have found a way to combine their shared fervor for beauty with a lipstick collaboration for Jenner’s blossoming beauty company Kylie Cosmetics.
On April 18, West and Jenner took to social media to announce a 4-color nude KKWxKylie lip kit with an alluring video that portrayed the two more like twins rather than just sisters. Pressing together their chests, squeezed in scant tube tops, they preen and pose in what has become West’s signature look – barely-there makeup and long, jet black hair, parted in the middle.
Inspired by West, the lip kit is “something authentic and organic,” Jenner gushed on Instagram. Based on a novel crème liquid formula, the KKWxKylie line features variations of pale beige and pink. All of the shades bear befitting names – “Kimberly,” “Kim,” “Kimmie” and “Kiki.”
Mother Kris Jenner chimed in on Instagram, buoying the hype around the lipsticks, “So proud of my girls and excited for this amazing collaboration.” The caption accompanies a close-up of the sisters’ glowing flawless visages, which has garnered more than 250,000 likes. This is a miniscule number given the over 5 million views of the teaser on Jenner’s Instagram account.
KKWxKylie is to debut on KylieCosmetics.com on April 25, where it will retail for $45 or only $11.25 per piece.
