This is the season of Emma Stone. The 28-year old actress strutted some of the most coveted red carpets, rolled out at the Golden Globes, BAFTA and the Oscars among other ceremonies, taking home multiple awards, including an a Best Actress Oscar for her performance in the musical La La Land.

With each of her major appearances, Stone’s status of a beauty trendsetter grows stronger. Her looks are rich in yesteryear glamor and still, somehow, feel refreshingly modern. From Stone’s gently curled locks to daringly colored lips, Haute Beauty dug into the actress’ beauty rudiments.

Clean Face with Freckles On

To even out her tone, Stone’s make-up artist Rachel Goodwin selects foundations with a matte texture that negate the need of layering up products like concealer powder. This tactic also allows for a coverage that is high enough to mask any imperfections and, at the same time, light enough to reveal Stone’s freckles.

Lips that Flare and Dare

Stone appears to be a huge bold-lipstick devotee. She opts for saturated shades with a half matte, half glossy finish. Most of the time Stone seems to take inspiration from old Hollywood, drawing her lips in various hues of red – from cranberry to burgundy.

Eyes to Look At

Stone knows how to coordinate her eye makeup with her lipstick in order to strike a balance between colors and intensity. Shimmer is her preferred choice that often embellishes a classic cat eye. Fixing the looks are Stone’s boldly filled-in brows.

Hair to Change Often

While Stone keeps her hair mid length, she is more than liberal with her hair color, having switched between dark brown, auburn and blond. A side-sweep fringe is her go to, regardless of whether her mane is let loose or slicked and tied up. Referencing the gilded age of Hollywood, Stone seems to favor highly stylized yet appealingly bouncy waves.
