Aerin Lauder is an authority on beauty. As the founder of the global luxury lifestyle brand, Aerin, Lauder has seamlessly curated a collection of beauty items, fashion accessories and home decor that showcase her personal passions for art, design, travel and fashion. Here, this aesthetically inclined design guru shares her tips for how to look and feel your best during the holidays.
1. Create the perfect vanity
The first step to getting ready for any kind of party is having a space where you can relax and recharge. My vanity at home is styled with family photos, fresh flowers, and a beautiful tray to hold my go-to products. When you can enjoy the time you spend getting ready, you’ll look and feel better. My dressing room in New York City is one of my favorite spaces. In a house full of boys, it’s my sanctuary where I can be a bit more feminine.

2. Start with the perfect canvas
My grandmother always said, ‘You only have one face. Take care of it.’ No matter how tired you are, cleanse and moisturize. Anti-aging serums are so important. I start everyday by putting on the Estée Lauder Re-Nutriv Serum or the Re-Creation Serum, and usually end my day with Advanced Night Repair. Serums are a great way to start preparing for the aging process early, I’ve been using some form since my 20s. I also love Crème de La Mer face masques and try to find time to do one each week.
3. Effortless beauty is best for the holidays
A beautiful, clean, effortless look can be created with only a few products. I keep my beauty simple with key essentials – bronzer, brown eyeliner, mascara and lip gloss. Bronzer is my secret product to looking pulled together without minimal effort. For lips, I like a subtle hint of color and texture. I use a rose lipstick like the AERIN Lipstick in Rose de Grasse, which comes in my limited edition, timeless Edie Parker clutch along with my gold travel comb.

4. Don’t skip your signature scent
Fragrance is key for the holidays. The new AERIN Rollerball Trio is nice because women can choose their favorite and then toss it in their bags to freshen up during a holiday party.

5. Dress wisely
During the holidays I rely on looks I can wear to the office and easily transition to evening. Well-tailored black pants, a silk blouse and classic pumps can be paired with a fur vest for an effortless day-to-night look. For those occasions when I need something more formal, I take advantage of local styling resources. In New York this season, Bronson van Wyck opened a holiday pop-up at the St. Regis with a new styling service called Armarium. The space is filled with luxury brands available to borrow, which is an amazing option when you need something special.
6. Wear Versatile Jewelry
I love wearing touches of gold jewelry, which feels even more festive during the holidays. Gold bangles are perfect to wear with any outfit and layer well with other jewelry. The holiday season is when I tend to wear my more special pieces from Verdura, David Webb or something that previously belonged to my Grandmother.
