Dori’s World: A Night with Audemars Piguet and React to Film’s Screening of “Let’s Talk About Sex”

First stop on the Monday night agenda was the Audemars Piguet watch event and auction at the Four Seasons. Vanessa Williams and Jay-Z were both stealing the spotlight for the evening and helping to auction off exclusive Audemars Piguet timepieces for the label’s “Time to Give” initiative. After the main event, we continued on with an after party at the flagship boutique. The next stop of the evening was a screening hosted by Dennis Paul and Coralie Charriol Paul. Coralie brought the cool crowd back to SoHo House, where she is a founding member, for the latest installment of her “React to Film” screening series, which casts the spotlight on issue-based documentaries shown in front of an intimate audience.

Last Wednesday was a typical night in New York City. My friend Charlotte Freund called me a week before and asked me to be her guest at a movie premiere. Afterward, we headed down to Lion, where it is always hopping. I continued on through the weekend, enjoying all the haute offerings of our splendid city. The weekend ended on Sunday with a lazy day at the Regency with Jarrod Posner and his new baby, the Lerners and their baby Cali, Edourd and Brooke Gerschel with their baby soon to come, John Dempsey, Marielle and Edmond Safra, and Denise Kaufman. I rounded out the day with dinner at Lizzie Grubman’s place.

Velvet ropes and lit candles bordered the far-reaching red carpet as it extended far onto the sidewalk, while leading an exclusive list of guests into the marble laden entrance of the Audemars Piguet flagship boutique in New York in honor of its opening. The world renowned watchmaker also celebrated its "Time To Give" campaign, a charitable auction held at the Four Seasons Hotel in which attendees bid on luxurious timepieces autographed by various celebrities including Jay-Z, Meryl Streep, Hugh Jackman, Whoopi Goldberg, and Kelsey Grammer.
