Haute Scene : Alexandra von Furstenberg Honored at Cavalier

Guests celebrated two visionary artists in October at Cavalier, the fabulous new neighborhood boutique founded by interior designer Jay Jeffers and Creative Director Michael Purdy. The evening showcased Alexandra Von Furstenberg and her collection of edgy, acrylic home accessories as well as the spectacular new jewelry collection by Alex & Lee, the iconic Bay Area designers. Von Furstenberg and Alex & Lee Founder Lee Brooks clinked glasses with the evening’s hosts Jay Jeffers and Michael Purdy ,Vanessa Getty, Sloan Barnett, Ali Pincus, JP Conte and Paul Weaver. The packed house also included VIP guests OJ Shansby, Hillary Thomas, Alexis Traina, Juliet de Baubigny, Joy Bianchi, Wilkes Bashford, Ed Hardy and Carolyn Chang. The fete was also an opening for the stunning retrospective Alex & Lee: 40 Years of Renegade Jewelry Design, curated by Michael Purdy and now on view at Cavalier.

Haute Scene : Bulgari unveils Jewelry pieces for the Biennale Des Antiquaires

Bulgari celebrated the 2012 San Francisco Opera Ball, hosted by Dede Wilsey and Bulgari’s US President, Alberto Festa. A percentage of proceeds from the evening went to the educational programs of the San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Opera Guild. For the first time in the U.S., Bulgari unveiled a collection of High Jewelry pieces made exclusively for the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris. Singer Nadine Sierra performed, accompanied by Sun Ha-Yoon on the piano, both from the Opera’s Adler program.

The book launch party was a beautiful cocktail event held throughout the house in the courtyard, living and dining room and music room for nearly 250 guests who all loved the new tome, which is perfect for those who are passionate about fine interiors, the preservation of antiques, the highest level of craftsmanship, and respect for architectural integrity. Fluent in classical styles and periods and known for sourcing her own vast array of objects and opulent materials from across the globe, Getty creates interiors that are steeped in historical style yet remain fresh and vibrant for today’s clientele.

Haute Ambassador Olivia Hsu Decker : The Fall in San Francisco, and Abroad

The San Francisco Opera celebrated its 90th Season with the Opera Ball 2012’s theme Notte di Spendore featuring Giuseppe Verdi’s high drama Rigoletto. It was conducted by music director Nicola Luisotti, and the co-chairs for the evening were Diane Rubin and Cathy MacNaughton. The patron dinner was at the tented Opera Ball Pavilion designed by Robert Fountain in the theme of peacocks, bird cages and orchids. Nearly 1,000 guests enjoyed the dinner catered by Dan McCall. This sold out event raised over $1 million this year for various San Francisco Opera education funding.
