33rd Annual Chance of a Lifetime Gala
The Illinois chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will be holding their 33rd Annual JDRF Chance of A Lifetime Gala Saturday December 8, 2012 at the McCormick Place convention center. The goal of the JDRF is “to improve the lives of every person affected with Type 1 diabetes by accelerating progress on promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing the disease.” That’s a mouthful but it’s a wonderful organization that’s dedicated to finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. This gala is a chance to help them make a difference.
The evening will feature a silent auction (from 5:30 until 7:20) as well as a live auction (starting at 8:30). Last year the auction raised over $420,000 thanks to the donors and supporters. After dinner, which separates the silent and live auctions, Grammy award-winning group, Kool & The Gang, will treat attendees of the gala to a performance. The group has been performing continuously for the past 35 years, so it’s almost guaranteed that the show will be amazing.
The entire dinner menu will be gluten-free and sounds tasty. It has baby bocconcini and tomato salad as a starter, fresh trout and grilled rib eye for an entrée and couple different options for dessert. There is also a vegetarian option available, but it must be pre-ordered. To purchase a table (tables start at $3,500) or ticket (individual tickets are $375) online, donate an item for auction or just for more information click here.
